Translation of the Prayer of Manasseh found in the Six-Volume Kralice Bible

The contribution deals with the Czech translation of the Prayer of Manasseh found in the Six-Volume Kralice Bible. Comparing the Czech version with the alleged Latin Vorlage in the Antwerp Polyglot, the author tries to demonstrate that numerous textual deviations point to different sources as the main textual models for the translation, namely the Latin translation appearing in the Tremellius-Junius Old Testament version and some other humanistic translations.

The paper deals with the question if it is possible to find the origin of extensive discussions about the unreliability in disagreement of contradictorical perspectives. The author tries to enlighten the thematisation of the notion unreability that indicates opposing theoretical perspectives.

The unreliable narrator is a part of the fictional world and his complex of mediation. The unreliable narrator is based on the contradiction which can be identified inside of the fictional world. The perceiver does not create the contradiction of the unreliable narrator but he reacts on his determinateness. We identify the contradiction of the unreliable narrator as the contradiction between the story and plot, between the narrator and the reflector, between different existential areas of the fictional world and between the internal and external perspective of the fictional world. We proved these contradictions on the texts from the Russian literature....

Situation conditioned transformations of recent lyrics

The article deals with the transformation of recent modern lyrics in the world of live concerts. Czech texts of some recent middle stream music groups and chosen folk singers were put under examination. First, the article shortly inquires into specific features of songs in general (especially their heterogenous temper and tension between the written lyrics and its sound realization), second, it focuses on the specificity of concerts environment and its effect on the transformation of lyrics. Transformations of the texts are demonstrated on particular examples.

Context and development of the theme of city in lyrics of Bratislava rock groups

The paper deals with the projection of space of city in several lyrics, which have been realized by Bratislava rock groups and singers since the end of 1960s, especially in 1970s and 1980s. It follows their characteristic features, development and modifications. The analysis is based on the background of popular music in Slovakia in general and on the context of cultural politics as well. It is also connected to the historical and architectural transformation of Bratislava after the World War II.

The review focuses on study Česká folková píseň v kontextu 60.-80. let 20. století written by Josef Prokeš and published in 2011, which deals with the creation of seven famous Czech folk singers connected to the period of 1960s-1980s (Karel Kryl, Jaroslav Hutka, Vladimír Merta, Vlastimil Třešňák, Jaromír Nohavica, Karel Plíhal, Slávek Janoušek), analyses their lyrics and describes their position in Czech folk music as well as in the life of society in general.
