The number of verbs with the prefix po- increases in historical Czech depending on the expanding lexis. Functions of the prefix are changing, e. g. the meaning of a small intensity of a process or its distribution is more frequent in Middle Czech; it is diminishing in the meaning 'the beginning of a process'.

The following article returns to the topic, partly discussed in our older paper named K jednomu funkčnímu aspektu lexikální expressivity (2012), and to its conclusions which pointed out the considerable shift of the lexical expressivity from the expressive to the conative function. The aim of this treatise is to analyse when it comes and which type of expressivity is applied to.

The paper deals with the live news entries in the Czech television and the Nova television. Author compares the form of the live news entries in both televisions and evaluates their participation on the reality construction. For this purpose the author analyses the language forms used in the both news programmes from the point of view of objectivity.

The paper introduces to the problems of description and definition of the word form se in the Czech linguistics, starting from the B. Havránek's view. The author focuses on the syntactic functions of word form se, on the existence of its genitive word form and on the parallels between se and another enclitics in Czech.

By simple argumentation I show that it is not possible to build explanation of the history of linguistics on nonlinguistic (nontheoretical/nonconceptual) facts. External coefficients are very important in the development of linguistic science, but in the explanation of linguistic history they must be only ilustrative. This broad issue is presented by contention about linguistic purism, whose two protagonists are Prague Linguistics Circle and Jiří Haller.

The contribution examines and contextualizes sources for exploration of book culture of medieval Jews in the Czech lands. If offers an overview of preserved works and their fragments and focuses further on the Canaanite glosses offering a unique testimony to the medieval importance of Czech, especially Prague Jewish community.
